[TIDEWATER COUNCIL]

University of Scouting

University of ScoutingMission
The University of Scouting is part of the Tidewater Council's supplemental training plan. This supplemental training event is designed to give leaders additional information on specific areas of Scouting. Some of the topics and procedures touched on in basic training are discussed in greater detail during the University of Scouting sessions.

Overview
The University will consist of six hours of instruction and lunch. Lunch will be provided by the Order of the Arrow cook crew. Participants are requested to bring a writing instrument and paper to take down any notes. Participants are requested to wear their Scout uniform. It is recommended that members of the same unit attend different sessions to enhance the experience and to bring as much knowledge as possible back to their unit. During the lunch period there is a Student Union with displays, exhibits, demonstrations, and a trading post.
