To be considered a trained Den Leader or Assistant Den Leader, you must:
- Complete the Den Leader section of Cub Scout Fast Start
- Complete New Leader Essentials
- Complete Youth Protection Training
- Complete the Den Leader section of Cub Scout Leader Basic Training
Other training oppourtunities you should consider attending:
- Wood Badge for the 21st Century
- Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)
- University of Scouting
- The Philmont Training Center
Den Leaders are encouraged to earn the Deb Leader Award 
and Assistant Den Leaders are encouraged to earn The Cub Scouter Award .
