Make sure that all adults have Youth Protection Training up-to-date, addresses, phone numbers, and positions are correct NOW!! Leaders will not be registered at recharter if they do not have current Youth Protection (within 2 years). To find out how to go online and update or complete Youth Protection go to www.MyScouting.org and simply follow the directions on the page. If you need a Youth Protection Training scheduled for your unit contact Danielle Hughes at (757) 534-8500.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT (ADVANCEMENT)

IMPORTANCE OF RECRUITING
Scouts remember making a pinewood derby, catching their first fish, camping outdoors, and having s'mores with their cub scout pack late at night, more importantly then what video game they played last week. When you talk to an adult who was in Scouting when they were younger, they always remember what they learned and how it pertains to them now in what they do. Make a difference in a youth's life and give them an experience in the World of Scouting. Make sure every boy has that chance by recruiting in your unit. Without an active recruiting program we will soon have less youth to serve and have less opportunities to be relevant to the youth of our district.
SOME IDEAS FOR RECRUITING:
Peer to Peer
Church Events
Recreation Center
Festivals
Fall Carnivals
Bounce House
Door to Door Hangers
Cinema Cafe/Kangaroo Jack
Sports Events
If your unit needs flyers, PTA letter, use of the Council Bounce House, or resources for recruiting please contact Danielle Hughes @ (757) 534-8500 or danielle.hughes@scouting .org
