Friends of Scouting 2010

Tidewater Council embarks every January on a plan to present Friends of Scouting to every unit before March 31.  Last year was a good year in getting to more units than previous years, but Albemarle needs to build to a 100% presentation result.  Forms will be at roundtable, units will be visited, calls will be made - all in an effort to reach the goal.

Please review your unit program calendar and Be Prepared for the call to visit a pack meeting, court of honor, Blue and Gold . . . you name the best opportunity to meet with your Scouts' parents and the district will be there.

Report From the Field - Pack 166 in Buxton

The camping trip was great and we had lots of fun! I got a chance to connect with some district leaders there: Dennis Stuart, Roy Haworth, and Frances Creel. They were very helpful and will continue to be.

Only 7 of my 20 scouts went, but I found that for our first trip it was plenty! My 2 Webelos took a 3 mile hike and will be getting some type of recognition from council.

We also picked up a lot of trash on the beach.

As reported by Pack 166 Committee Chairman Caprice Oliver.
